US BANK'S new Burnsville branch at 900 W. County Road 42 received LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for its environmentally friendly construction. It is the first U. S. Bank location to receive the certification. Cole's Salon was awarded a #2 ranking amongst the TOP 100 WORKPLACES in the Twin Cities in a recent Star Tribune employee survey. The State Department of Employment and Economic Development awarded a $330,000 grant to help train 2,140 Xcel Energy, Inc. employees in hazard avoidance and environmental issues. The Minnesota State Bar Association announces the recertification of attorney Loren M. Solfest, Severson, Sheldon, Dougherty & Molenda PA. as a MSBA Board Certified Real Property Specialist. An attorney designated a "Board Certified Real Property Specialist" has earned an additional professional credential beyond his or her law school degree by completing a rigorous approval process, including an examination in the specialty area. Fewer than 2% of licensed attorneys in Minnesota are certified as Real Property Law Specialists. CONSTRUCTION UPDATE for Burnsville Parkway businesses: In light of the challenges for business that the construction project is creating, the City Council (6/22/10) allowed for additional sign flexibility in the construction area. For businesses between Aldrich Ave. and Nicollet Ave., you are now able to use temporary signs of your choice on your property with out permit or fees until construction is completed.
