COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Group/Business volunteer opportunities at DARTS
Many companies and organizations engage in volunteering to support their community. DARTS matches businesses, church groups, school groups, and civic groups with older adults who need help with their outdoor chores. Volunteer opportunities are flexible. Occasionally, groups will “adopt” an older adult for a season and rotate among the group members to take care of the older homeowner’s snow shoveling or lawn mowing needs for the whole winter or summer. Many groups opt for a one-time project such as raking leaves and yard clean-up in the spring or fall or weeding a garden in the summer. If you’re interested in helping an older neighbor in your community with their outdoor chores, contact Barb Tiggemann at DARTS, 651-234-2254 or barb.tiggemann@darts1.org.
Individual/family volunteer opportunities at DARTS
Get to know older adults living in your community by helping with shopping errands, visiting and sharing interests, and giving a break to family members caring for loved ones. By volunteering yourself or with your family, you can be part of the solution for helping older neighbors maintain the life they want in their own home. If you’re interested in helping an older neighbor in your community, contact Barb Tiggemann at DARTS, 651-234-2254 or barb.tiggemann@darts1.org
360 Communities Volunteerism
Without the contributions of volunteers, much of what 360 Communities does to make our community a better place in which to live would not be possible. 360 Communities depends on volunteers for the vital support they offer to individuals, families, and neighborhoods. Through the efforts of volunteers, 360 Communities is able to increase the positive impact on the community, not only improving the lives of families being served, but enriching the lives of volunteers as well.
